on a completely different note, i've been really enjoying new tv shows lately. for example, 2 broke girls is just hilarious! so is, new girl. i was so sad to find out that my newly favorite love bites was cut! it was such a good and interesting show :( i really liked the idea of different people connecting in some ways. too bad it was cut. such a shame.

i recently bought a pocket-sized watercolors, yes, i am a sucker for pocket-sized anything. who isn't, really? and i convinced myself that i needed this so that i can bring it around with me while i'm travelling. that's a good enough reason, right?

i also bought a new watercolor notebook from moleskine. it's my first time using moleskine watercolor notebooks, i usually just use those watercolor pads/blocks. so, on my very first page, i decided to write my favorite quote out :) i think it makes for a good beginning..

to be honest, i haven't been shopping all that much lately. i'm the kind of girl who likes fall/winter fashion way more than spring/summer fashion. so instead, i've just been buying myself some accessories.

rennes 8 inch chestnut leather pouch, urban outfitters: watch, initial rings and dusty blue hex bracelet, ettika: bracelets.

let's just say i'm very happy with my purchases! the pouch is super soft, the leather is just insanely amazing! nothing compared to those of american apparel ones. the uo watch actually comes with two other gold bands that i can easily switch if i ever get bored, but i'm really liking the classic leather look at the moment, so i'm keeping it as that! such a great buy :) unfortunately, none of these uo items are available anymore, i got them while they were on sale! as for those ettika bracelets, they are amazing too!! it makes a somewhat boring outfit, a little bit more interesting.

i just wanted to share these two products that i'm currently loving!! i think i've mentioned about topshop's leigh super soft skinny before but they truly are comfortable :) i think i now own about three pairs, two in black and one in navy. so, if you're looking for super comfortable skinny jeans, then i would really recommend these!! i just wished i had found them earlier..

the second photo is of my skin care products. i wasn't really aware of avene until i read about it at goop.com and i decided to try it out. their products are amazing. the french really knows how to make skin care products! their stuff makes your face feel really clean and light. instead of other products that makes your face feels clogged up.

anyways, enough of my ramblings. do you have any favorite products at the moment?

without further ado: japanese chicken katsu curry, nude nail polish (the only color that i seem to be able to wear these days: tickle my francey from opi), rings, and black coffee.

oh, i'd also like to share two shows that i'm starting to watch and i think are pretty good shows: love bites and single ladies :) i can't wait for their next episodes! love bites is so refreshing and new, i love it. if you like romantic comedies, i really suggest that you watch the show! but be warned, it's not like those sappy love stories with happy endings all the time, it's refreshing. single ladies on the other hand, is like sex and the city but with more attitude? i don't know, it's interesting nonetheless.

i've been listening to these two songs recently: coming home by diddy and enchanted by taylor swift. unfortunately, i haven't met anyone enchanting lately so i can't really relate to the song lyrics but i really like the beginning/middle of the song. when it gets towards the end, it gets kind of annoying.

and yes, i am aware that i may sound a little too pop (even for my own liking) but sometimes, pop is good. but only for a certain amount of dosage :)

i came across bap story through a link of a link, you know how it is.. you don't really know how you end up in a particular website. but oh boy, aren't i glad to find this gem. if you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know that i looooove korean food!

well, bap story is a blog with korean recipes :) except the instructions are made to be so simple and effortless. the word "bap" is korean for rice, how cute is that?

if you haven't already visited bap story, make sure that you do! even if you don't like korean food, maybe you might end up loving it as much as i do!

i have exciting news!! i have been working with enlighten education on this posters project since last year. and they are now finally available online for purchase, in their shop :)

i think this is the first time ever where you can purchase my work in print, so it's quite a big deal for me! and there have been so many emails asking when i'll have my own online shop or where you guys can get prints of my work. and all i've been able to reply was, "i'm sorry, not yet. but hopefully soon." well now you can! and at the same time, you're supporting an amazing program.

here's a little info on enlighten education. they work with over 20,000 teen girls each year supporting them to make positive choices and grow into whole, healthy, empowered young women. they are also, the australian business of the year for children in 2007. and they have a blog that's aimed at helping parents and teachers to raise amazing girls.

to be honest.. i'm really glad to be a part of this project, even though i can only help in such a little way.. i know from experience that growing up is never easy and if there's help for you, to make you feel more confident about yourself in the right way, not in the way the mass media is trying to brainwash you, i think that's just what we need. and i think it's wonderful that people can dedicate their life to help the future generation change for the better.

it's pretty common to know that, every girl needs to own at least one red nail polish. and i've been on the hunt for the perfect shade for quite a while now.. so who knew that rimmel would have it? it's so perfect! it might just be my staple for red nail polishes.

also, the good thing with rimmel is their super wide brushes! oh my goodness, they are the best and makes painting your nails that much faster :) there is a downside though, it may be a little too big for some people.. it really depends on your preferences.

on another note, i think i mentioned a while ago that i bought myself an ipod touch. well, my sister was kind enough to get me this cute little pad & quill case for it. this way, i can just put it in my bag without having to worry about scratches or anything! if i ever get an ipad (which i really doubt that i would..) i would probably get one of their casing again.

someone emailed me asking me questions about my doodles and i just had the chance to reply it. and so i thought i'd share it here too, since there may be some of you guys out there who is wondering about the same things. here goes..

i started doing my doodles out of fun and boredom. the name "notebook doodles" was not particularly made for what it is today, i don't know if that makes sense. but i didn't expect or plan it to turn out this way. it sort of just happened by itself.

and yes, previously people do compliment me on my handwriting but that wasn't the reason why i started my blog. and they never actually recommend or persuade me to do anything with my handwriting, it was just simply passing-by comments :)

some of the quotes on my doodles are not 100% from me. i always credit whoever it is by and well for those ones, they are already very well written. as for the quotes that i do make on my own, they come straight from my head, they are pretty much my thoughts, actually. so no, i don't really use books or other tools to make my thoughts sound better. they really are just my raw thoughts put out there as a doodle.

it has been a while since i posted anything nail polish related. but here's one. i recently caved into buying topshop nail polishes. i really thought that the packaging was simple but cute! i bought "sketch" and "galactic", i haven't tried the latter because i haven't been wanting to wear anything dark on my nails lately. the color "sketch" reminds me of chanel's paradoxal minus the shimmer, which is interesting.

i also bought some opi classic back-ups, "you don't know jacques" and "tickle my francey". the photo isn't really doing justice to "you don't know jacques" because it's much darker in real life. if you are thinking of buying nail polishes and don't know where to start, i would suggest these two :) one is a nice nude/neutral color and the other is a very wearable taupe-ish color.

i've always loved fun size chocolates. they're oh-so convenient for you to carry around in your bag. and they are always individually wrapped as well, the convenience! and i hate not being able to finish a whole chocolate bar sometimes..

it's weird how i've stopped eating m&m's peanut as i get older. i used to eat it all the time. i used to get fascinated with the colors and put it on my lips as i eat it. anyways, that was my scrambled eggs for breakfast the other day. and my pocket planner from graphic image :) random phone photos. as usual.

if you've been reading my blog long enough, you'll know that i like gossip girl. and even though it's not showing again for at least another month, i was really content with the cliff hanger in the latest episode. i don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen the episode. but yes, i liked it very much. the best one for the season, i would say.

anyways, i'm a loyal fan when it comes to tv shows. if i liked it once, i would keep liking it. except for one case, glee. i don't seem to enjoy it as much anymore. their first season was amazing but i'm not as psyched as i used to be.

yes. posting phone photos is the most convenient way for me to update my blog these days. it takes less time and i always have my phone with me so i often snap photos here and there, whenever i think it's interesting or just simply because i wanted to record it.

anyways, my recent obsessions are pictured above: black coffee, lemon cake, gyoza and little plants. i can't explain how much i love gyoza. they're just simple and yummy at the same time. i am also a little bit obsessed with soya sauce. it's the little things in life :) right?

hello :) if you have never tried curry udon before. i highly suggest that you do. especially during cold days, it's the perfect meal which will leave you all warmed up inside. it also does not hurt to have macarons as dessert afterward. so, what's your favorite meal for a cold day?

ps. aren't those glasses pretty? spotted them in ikea the other time. too bad they were kinda heavy.

also, say hello to my new coffee cup for the year. i like how simple it is. and i've recently found small and short straws from a japanese supermarket! they're kind of like coffee stirrers/straws but just cuter, in my opinion.

random fact: i like to go all out and get myself a complete mcdonald's breakfast meal once in a while. i know it's not healthy but it is definitely yummy. and the way i see it, it's not like i have it every day.. only once in a while. that should be okay right?

on another note, i am so glad tv shows are coming back again! i haven't had my dose of tv shows to watch for a while now. any particular one that you're super excited about?

ps. if anyone is wondering, that's glitzerland by opi on my nails. a very pretty gold :) but a little too much or a little more "bling" compared to what i am used to on my nails..

this is also the same reason why i like to wonder around in a book store because i love looking at all the different book covers. it's very inspirational for me.

i guess it is a pretty bad habit to have, looking at things from the outer surface.. but when things are so pretty, how can you resist? is there anyone else having this habit?

yes, i recently bought myself the new ipod touch with camera and i've been having so much fun with it! anyone out there for app recommendations? i am all ears.

my current favorite is the quadcam or the actioncam. they both have the same features but i prefer actioncam just because it doesn't suddenly shut down like quadcam but apparently they are trying to fix that bug. and actioncam is completely free!

the above photo was taken with hipsmatic though. it's fun i guess, but i think sometimes the photos have too much effect on them and i kinda dislike it. but that's just my personal preference.

so yes, any app recommendations? please share them with me :)

recent phone photos of breakfast. it is the most important meal of the day, after all. and i must agree. but i am learning to cut down my breakfast intake for 2011.

these days, i am satisfied with half peanut butter and half nutella on a small bread with some coffee. let's just say that peanut butter and nutella goes really good together!

here's my phone photos for the day :) they are of my recent purchases. and when i say recent, these were pretty much accumulated from the past month or two.

knitted gloves with bows from little love (blog), rings from wanderlust and co (blog), topshop leigh super soft skinny in black, and american apparel leather clutches in medium size, stone and tan.

let's just say i am very happy with my recent purchases :) and i am really keen on another pair of topshop leigh! they are super comfortable. oh ps. the rings were actually gifted to me and i'll be posting more photos of them soon!

so this is my first 2011 little personal project. it's not completely finished yet. i want to find a nice gold clasp so that i would be able to wear it more as an accessory/jewelry than just the regular friendship bracelet. i know it pretty much defeats the whole tying it in a knot theory but i don't think i want to have it on while i shower. and never take it off.

and i'm also thinking of adding some beads or anything sparkly on it! i'll see how it goes. i'll post more photos next time when it's completely done and it's worn on my wrist :)

do you have any 2011 projects? and what do you think of friendship bracelets? yay or nay?

i think someone's heart and intentions can be seen right through from how they behave.. or how their facial expression is. of course there are some people who can hide it away really well. but always remember to sincerely smile everyday :) it makes your days brighter!
