reminder to self.

spring 2011 cahier.

just in case the quote above is not readable (because it is quite tiny..) it says "always keep an open mind, and a compassionate heart" -phil jackson.

so, i finally managed to scan the pages of my spring 2011 cahier. it is so overdue.. but better now than never right? i hope you'll like them. i'll be posting the rest of the pages on different days so that it won't be too boring..

here's my inspiration for this year's spring cahier: life, wisdom, music, tv shows (gossip girl & grey's anatomy), coffee, travelling and before sunset, the film.

although, there was one disappointment. i used gold washi tape on some of the pages but the scanner won't pick it up nicely. so that's that.

elle is a pretty name.

i couldn't help but smile a little when i saw this little feature on the recent teen vogue issue. she's so pretty and very age appropriate, which i appreciate. don't you think?

stars and grounds.

sometimes you might get lost looking at the stars and forget that you're still only just standing on the ground.. so i guess this is a good reminder.

sharing the goodness: bap story.

i came across bap story through a link of a link, you know how it is.. you don't really know how you end up in a particular website. but oh boy, aren't i glad to find this gem. if you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know that i looooove korean food!

well, bap story is a blog with korean recipes :) except the instructions are made to be so simple and effortless. the word "bap" is korean for rice, how cute is that?

if you haven't already visited bap story, make sure that you do! even if you don't like korean food, maybe you might end up loving it as much as i do!

ps. i might make this "thing" a regular post on my blog, i've been finding such great sites on the internet lately.. it's hard not to share it with you guys :) what do you think? yes or no..?

odds and ends.

some recent phone photos of breakfasts, sunglasses and plain black flats. i'm still searching for the perfect cat-eye sunglasses, preferably just a little bit over-sized, that aren't too dramatic but still has the effect. any ideas?

posters for your wall.

i have exciting news!! i have been working with enlighten education on this posters project since last year. and they are now finally available online for purchase, in their shop :)

i think this is the first time ever where you can purchase my work in print, so it's quite a big deal for me! and there have been so many emails asking when i'll have my own online shop or where you guys can get prints of my work. and all i've been able to reply was, "i'm sorry, not yet. but hopefully soon." well now you can! and at the same time, you're supporting an amazing program.

here's a little info on enlighten education. they work with over 20,000 teen girls each year supporting them to make positive choices and grow into whole, healthy, empowered young women. they are also, the australian business of the year for children in 2007. and they have a blog that's aimed at helping parents and teachers to raise amazing girls.

to be honest.. i'm really glad to be a part of this project, even though i can only help in such a little way.. i know from experience that growing up is never easy and if there's help for you, to make you feel more confident about yourself in the right way, not in the way the mass media is trying to brainwash you, i think that's just what we need. and i think it's wonderful that people can dedicate their life to help the future generation change for the better.

featured in: teenbook magazine (issue one).

i answered a few questions for teenbook magazine which was launched recently. check it out if you're interested. just a little disclaimer, there was a misunderstanding/miscommunication in the article.. let's see if you can point it out. probably not. but maybe you can? who knows :)

a lesson learnt.

this is something i've learnt along the way. no matter how good or how bad your past was, it is still a part of you, or was a part of you. there's no point in denying that. own it and just move on. live in the present.

a random polaroid of my things/possessions. taken quite a while ago. it'll be interesting to see this photo in about 5 or 6 years time and maybe some of those things will be replaced with other things in my life. it's always good to record things and keep it as a memory.

a re-occuring question.

this is quite an old doodle. i posted it on my flickr november last year. but i have never posted it before or made it public until now. i do that a lot.. for some reason.

anyways, this is just a simple question with two possible answers but will most likely be followed by many other reasons, explanations and justifications. so tell me, do you believe in soul mates?

i'm not very fond of my own doodle here. there's something off about it. but i'm posting it anyways. i can't believe it's already may! we're nearly in the middle of 2011. i'm feeling quite hungry. might try out and hack a ramen today. there goes my random thoughts of the day :)
