busy busy busy.

i am currently applying and doing, in my life at the moment. so i'm sorry if i am abandoning this place for a little bit! but i'll make sure that i'll come back soon :)

and i hope you're all applying and doing in your own little world out there too!

ps. anyone realize that i'm missing a star on my 'i' ? oopsy daisy. it can't always be perfect, i guess.

sugary goodness.

i like mini donuts. some days i like them with different flavors but there are other days when i like the simplicity of plain sugary goodness :)

ps. i am really into twisted rope braids at the moment! go ahead and you-tube it.. you'll thank me later. but if you have better hair style suggestions, please do share! i am really keen on learning all types of hair-do right now.

now available for commission work.

yes, yes i am! i have been for a while but i just haven't properly/officially announce it on the blog yet. so that's what i am doing now.

if you want any design related things with "the-notebook-doodles-touch" on it, you can email me at info@thenotebookdoodles.com and we can discuss it further :)

below are examples of my previously commissioned work.

this was created for looby's bakery, she is based in the uk and bakes pretty cupcakes! i created a logo which was also used as a blog banner and i helped to create the look of the blog too.

this was for lovell management, an event management company based in australia. and i created an email signature with one of my doodled quote on it. a great idea for anyone who wants to get other people inspired with their emails, or just to add something extra to the usual boring emails :)

anyways, enough of the shameless self-advertising. if you are interested.. email me and we can talk!

too much of something is never a good thing.

i've decided to minimize my phone photos at one go. i felt that it was a little too much before so now i'm just doing it four phone photos at a time. it seems to look better this way anyways. what do you think?

from left to right clockwise: best burger i've had in a very long time, my new ysl arty ring :) so so excited about this, ocean view and comforting chicken teriyaki.

ps. i think the quote below is so true! i got it from crazy/beautiful.

a peachy gradient.

i did this a while ago. it looks better in photos in my opinion.. or i'm just not that keen on peachy tones on my nails. i think i've grown out of it. i used sahara beige, django, lily beige, rose satin and magnolia rose all by chanel.

below is with natural lighting while the one above is with indoor lighting but with sunlight. i'm not sure which one captures the true color more but there you go.

so, have you tried the gradient nails look yet? i'm quite curious and might try other colors and see what works best for me. suggestions are welcome :)

yellow lighting.

some of the people who comes by my blog often email me asking if i use any effects on my photos to get that "vintage-y" look. and i would like to make a post about it here just so that it can be clear.. and maybe others are curious about it too.

a photo like the above did not use any effects to make it look like it is. it's mainly because of the lighting in my house, which is yellow bulb instead of white bulb that creates the yellow tint in most of my indoor photos.

you have no idea how much i wish to have a clear white bulb to be used at home but yellow bulbs do create that comfort home-y feeling. so i guess i can't complain. i used to hate looking at how my photos turn out, a little washed out in yellow but i've come to appreciate it as it is.

as for my other photos (example: here), i do use effects in photoshop to get the vintage-y colors because it's fun doing it and creating something i don't get to see with my actual eyes :)

oh and ps. i'm trying something new with my doodles. instead of scanning, i'm taking photos of them. it's kind of easier to do as well. but i'm not saying i'll be stuck doing this, it's just experimenting!

yay or nay?

a letter to the universe.

i still can't believe we are about 3 months away from 2011. how crazy is that? there's so many things that needs to get done before the end of the year and then, there are new resolutions that i need to consider.

but before all that, how has your 2010 been so far?

Saturday, September 18

a mix of pastels.

nespresso capsules is my newest addiction. painted alternate colors on my nails for fun with chanel's django & opi's tickle my francey. fresh lilies and roses are my favorite flowers. feet shots, as usual and pretty birdies.

Thursday, September 16

greyscaled and a hint of gold.

t-shirt: uniqlo, cardigan: club monaco, necklace: j.crew and watch: toy watch.

i am currently munching on plain white bread with cheese & onion chips inside. it's the simplest thing but also the yummiest thing at the same time. yes, i am lazy to find other better food so this will do for now.

any suggestions on easy snacks?

this is a fact.

i eat my burgers bun-down. don't ask me why but i've figured out, that it's easier to eat it that way rather than having to tackle it with the bun-up.

ps. that's supposed to be my new laptop bag but it's too flat so i've changed. and now it's just sitting pretty and waiting to be used. maybe as a document bag? or something fancy like that.

how is your week going, so far?

Tuesday, September 14

old phone photos.

what i mean by old phone photos is that i have new ones that i've just uploaded so these are considered old. i am no longer having red nails at the moment. and i think, i might stick to uploading phone photos for a while until i get more doodles done :)

ps. my nails are big apple red by opi.

edited has anyone seen gossip girl's season 4 premiere? there wasn't much to it but i'm so glad that it's back on. can't wait to see more of it. and talking about tv shows, the vampire diaries!! oh my goodness. no words. i absolutely love that show.

Sunday, September 12

and i'm back.

vacation was great. but i'm glad to be back now! expect a lot of photos and doodles to come. but before that, i have many errands to run so it might take a while for me to post regularly again.

how have you been?

ps. those who might be interested, that's particuliere by chanel on my nails :)

Sunday, September 5

more photos to come.

turns out i have internet access here.. so i guess i might update as much as i can. but no promises. i'd rather be out enjoying my time than being stuck in front of my screen. but there are times when i'm bored and i'll be sure to post some photos!

for now, this will do. it's my sister's camera. i wish mine was as cute. but i didn't even bring mine. oh well..

Saturday, September 4

goodbye for now.

i'm off for a short vacation. be back soon! sorry for not responding emails & comments for a while.

Wednesday, September 1

window of opportunity.

so i haven't been uploading photos from my camera recently and i haven't been scanning in my doodles as well. there's no point about blogging about it because it's really just me procrastinating. but then again, i just feel like posting. that's the thing about blogging, you get quite addicted to it.

oh and ps. i think there's equal amount of coffee and tea lovers, judging from my last post. i should learn to drink tea more. i like iced tea but not so much of hot tea. but fall/winter is around the corner so that may change.

and another thing, how was your first day of september?

hi, i am a coffee addict.

this is a fact, coffee makes me happy. and i think it's because of the caffeine or something.. i'm not completely sure. but i am a happier person when i drink coffee. i guess it's because i am more alert after i have my coffee.

but i have been trying to change how i drink my coffee these days.. with a straw! it's just so that i won't mess up my teeth and get it all yellow. no one likes that! i'm actually considering those coffee stirrers/straws, looked it up and staples has some :)

any minor or major changes in your life lately?
