hello there. i'm sorry for not posting over the weekend. i was actually away from my laptop the whole time because it was a busy one.

i spent some quality time on saturday with a very good friend of mine. i think it was five hours straight of non-stop eating and talking away. it's amazing how you can just click and be comfortable with someone and not feel like time is passing by. i really do treasure such moments. and such friends.

on sunday, i went to a wedding and that pretty much took half of the day but i spent the other half napping and resting :) how did you spend your weekend?

also, if you aren't aware of urban dictionary just yet.. i highly suggest that you subscribe to it. i can honestly say that most of the time, it makes my day reading the daily emails they send me. for example, the word/phrase for january 31st was "that's a good question". and if you want to know what it means, you'll just have to click on the link. i found it hilarious because i use that phrase quite often.. and i guess my cover is blown :p

ps. can you believe that we are stepping into february? second month of the year! what?! how did that happen? which also means.. valentine's day is around the corner!!

breaking the cycle

i have been forever stuck with my leggings since early last year. i can't seem to get rid of it. it's just way to comfortable for me not to wear it.

and by leggings, i don't mean the normal thin ones. mine are from either zara or uo and they have pretty good quality (ie. not thin and some are even jeans/ denim material) so technically, they are tight pants, but not really pants either. i hate it when people wear leggings as pants cause i think it's just too weird and unnecessary.

anyways, my point is.. i will try to wear my other neglected pants from now on. and wear less of my leggings. that is all.

is anyone else out there, stuck with a certain piece of clothing that pretty much end up being their daily uniform? i hope i'm not the only one :(

it's been a while since i've posted my doodled quotes. so here's one right now. and here's a question: are you spending your life with people who you want to be with? cause i personally think, that it's a waste of time to be spending your life with someone who you don't want to be around with. it may sound kind of harsh.. but it's the truth.

ps. i can't believe that we're nearly at the end of january! how has your january been? mine was pretty packed with celebrations and birthdays. there has been 3 birthdays this month. which means a birthday, nearly once a week!

it was my grandmother's birthday recently. and this was her cake. it reminds me a lot of j.crew for some reason. probably the color and the fact that it's all ruffled up as well. i like it though, i may want one like this when it comes my birthday, later this year.

also, j.crew has a new catalog out. and i swear, their clothes are always so so pretty!! and i cannot stop looking at their clothes for kids, crewcuts. i wished i looked that stylish when i was young!

sealed letters

i really wish we still do send letters with a seal. taking the time to actually melt the wax and then carefully placing your seal on top of it, it makes the letter to be so much more official and appreciated. don't you think?

i already own a seal with the my initials on it. well only the letter of my first name.. but i can't help to want more! not that i write that many letters. i just like the whole process of it.

over the taupe

so i painted my nails again. this time a different color, over the taupe by opi. and i decided to make another animation since i had fun doing the last one. this might be a regular thing on the blog :) what do you think? i happen to get easily distracted when it comes to moving objects.

i'm not too sure if i like the color on me. it looks a bit dead for some reason. or maybe i'm just not used to "in-between" colors. i'm so used to either really dark colors or just nude colors. not like this one, it's neither too dark or too light. i think i might paint something else over it and maybe i'll like it then..

ps. what colors are on your fingers now? i know that i keep asking this same question over and over again.. but i seriously think that there isn't enough colors to go around!

raindrops on my window

it's been pouring lately. i like it. but it does get pretty scary sometimes. the best way to spend a rainy day is by staying at home, drinking some tea/coffee, blog, doodle in my notebook, catch up on my google reader and maybe watch a few dvds. that is my definition of a perfect rainy day :)

also, some of you may wonder why i'm resistant towards tattoos, from the last post.. it's not that i'm against people doing it but i just know for myself, i wouldn't want to do that to my body. i don't know if that makes any sense. it's just my personal belief, i guess. i just don't believe in putting a permanent mark on my own body. nothing do to with religion or anything.

white ink

wouldn't it be pretty awesome to have white ink tattoos? not that i am keen about tattoos, i personally would not get any part of my body inked permanently. i wish there was some sort of temporary ink that only lasts for like a week or so, but still look as awesome as real tattoos.

anyways, i would be way too scared to have needles going at me for like an hour or more. that's just too freaky for my liking. and as odd as this may sound, i don't believe in tattoo-ing your body. if it's not permanent, then it's alright :)

mini polaroid album

my sister bought this from a korean site gmarket. i love it! i am not even half way through the album, i need to take more polaroids. and it even matches my bag :) how do you keep your polaroids? do you have an album? or do you just stick it into your notebook?

(fyi: my polaroids aren't the original polaroids, they are the fujifilm instax mini polaroids - still as awesome though!)

ps. i have decided to "mark" all my photos with the © sign from now on. i've been wanting to do it for a while but never really bothered too. and since it's the beginning of a new year, i thought it'd be a good start. there will still be some photos that does not have the © mark because they were taken a while ago, so i guess you can tell which of my photos are new and which are old :p

best combination ever

you get the warm, crispy and saltiness from the fries. and yet, you still get the soft, cold and creamy taste from the soft serve.

does anyone eat these two things together? i do :) whenever i get the chance to. and do you have other odd food combination? maybe i can try them out!

i found another great flickr group. well actually, i've known it for a while now and i've always wanted to join in the fun. so i did :) check it out and you'll be kind of amazed.

my drawings are nothing compared to those there.. but it's fun to see what other people are wearing as drawings! some even do it every day which is a lot of dedication. i don't know how often i'll do these but we'll see.

chloe and jill

i posted my two other dresses before. these ones below are slightly older. i think i've had them for a couple of years now. the pink one is from chloe and the silver-ish one is from jill stuart. i don't really wear them on normal casual days. cause believe it or not (even though it may not show on this blog) i am quite a tomboy when it comes to what i wear. i'm usually in black , gray and white.

also, some of you were asking if i was a designer or a graphic designer in the previous posts. i guess i can say that i inspire to be one. well actually, i am pretty certain that, it is what i want to do as my career.

i was wondering.. so many other bloggers are doing the whole formspring thing where people can ask you questions. do you think i should do that? i've been wanting to do a Q&A kind of thing but i don't know if you guys even have any questions for me. so let me know.. to formspring or not to formspring? (i might actually not use that, but still do a Q&A..)

i drew this for a flickr group called illustration phobias. and i thought i'd share it here on the blog as well. i actually have a whole lot of phobias but this is just one of them. i even wrote a list of all the phobias i have, in my notebook. maybe i'll scan it in one day.

do you have any phobias? here's a good site to find one :) i was trying to find the one that says "fear of looking like your mother" because i get that many many times and it kind of freaks me out. even though, it's really a compliment. i guess? i don't know. but they seem to not have that phobia yet!

i thought i'd add this "feature" into my blog. i don't really know how consistent i'll be at doing this but i'll try my hardest at it. i guess it really isn't that hard. cause it's pretty much like window shopping but through the internet.

anyways, i've been wanting any kinds of double rings/two finger rings since early last year. but i never got the chance to get some. i guess they are pretty "in" at the moment.. since forever 21 are even selling them, at very reasonable prices!! although, i don't know if they will rust or anything like that. i think i'll have to go to the stores and try them on to see if they look good or not :)

i'm not feeling well. mostly physically. or maybe mentally too. i don't know if what i'm feeling will last long or not. but i certainly hope not. it's too early in the year to be feeling this way. i guess i just need some sort of getaway and refresh myself.

i don't know if this will be my last post for a while. or maybe it's just a 24 hour bug/ mood swings kind of thing. i'll just see how it goes.

※ i can spend a long time looking at stationaries and i will always have to say to myself, "you don't need any of these. seriously. walk away."

※ i like wearing home slippers. just cause they are comfy and make my feet super clean. not that my house isn't clean.. but i guess i've just gotten used to it.

※ i like to stock up on things. i don't exactly know why.. but i think it gives me a comfort feeling knowing that if i ever need something, it's already there for me. when i say things, i mean things from pens, glues, notebooks to lip balms and even t-shirts.

※ i can eat spaghetti like there's no tomorrow. an embarassing fact but it's the truth. i just can't say no to them. and most of the time, i'll eat more than one plateful. but this only happens when it's homemade. i don't order crazy portions when i'm out.

※ i get really paranoid with dust/dirt and have wet wipes with me all the time. i would get even more paranoid if i have no wet wipes with me, which rarely happens because i do stock up on wet wipes too.

※ i drink four shots of espresso coffee to wake me up in the morning. it has increased within the past few years which is not very healthy. but seriously, no coffee would mean a very lazy and unproductive day.

※ i used to write a lot more in my diaries and notebooks before having a blog. but ever since i have a blog, i kinda just write more here. this is something i'm trying to change though. i want to write more in my notebooks.

※ i desperately need a new camera. even though i might be broke after purchasing it. and i am still considering which ones to get too. it's getting harder and harder by the day. so many choices!!

※ i would like to take time and travel the world one day. hopefully one day soon and not when i am old. this is probably what i'll do if i ever win the lottery :)

※ last but not least, i am super grateful for the people reading this blog. i never really thought that anyone would at the beginning. and it's still mind blowing to know that there are people out there, who are complete strangers clicking their fingers away on this blog.

some tips

for your blog ❤

i thought i'd share this with you all. it's really only from my own simple perspective and i bet there are tons of ways to make your blog look nice but here's just what i think:

- make sure the main text background, is white. this makes it easier for people to read your blog.

- be consistent in your photo sizes so that it looks neater and more organized.

- stick to one alignment when posting because if you don't, it'll just get too messy.

- if you want to have a neater layout, when you post, make sure the paragraph is justified. this means that all the text will become one chunk of paragraph that has no odd ends sticking out. i don't know how else to describe this. but this paragraph you are reading, is a good example.

- it's best to not use fonts that are italicized/bold for your main text.

- only use italicized/bold fonts for when you want to emphasize a word or a saying.

- avoid using too many colors for your blog, you should stick to 3 colors, the most.

- don't use a font size that is way too small to read (ie. mine) but i happen to like it, so i'm sorry! the usual size that's best to use is either 10 or 12, i think.

and that's pretty much it. i still have a lot to learn about these kind of things.. so if you have any tips, feel free to email or comment! i'd love to know how to improve for the better :)

i'm not much of a planner, i realized. well not for a whole week kind of thing. i'm more of a daily person i guess. and i just do whatever it is that i need to do instead of planning too much. i don't know if that's a good or a bad thing.

anyways, i am curious.. what colors are on your nails? i am currently bored of reds, purples and taupes. and i'm not really into pinks or nudes either. i guess that's why i'm settling to dark gray.

ps. opi is coming out with an alice in wonderland collection. what! how awesome is that. okay, this was not meant to be a nail polish post but it kinda turned into one. oopsy! sorry. but i still would like to know what colors are on your nails right this minute, please :)

three days without the internet. wow. it was a nice feeling. kinda. i don't know. but i know that i'm glad to be back. i have lots of things to sort out.. so the posts might be kind of slow for this week. but i'll try my hardest to not completely disappear from the face of the earth. or in this case, the face of blogspot.

has anyone wondered why it's called both blogspot and blogger? and which "name" do you like better? i kinda like blogger better. but it'll be weird having notebookdoodles.blogger.com..? isn't it?

i need to drink less coffee and use my watercolors more often. but both are very hard to do because i can't seem to stay awake these days. i think it's the post-holiday-symptoms. hopefully, i'll be able to recover from this very soon. anyone else experiencing this?


also, i just want to say thank you for the comments and emails that i've been getting lately. you are all very sweet. yes, YOU!!

and remember, a little pain is okay. it's like the old saying "if it doesn't kill you, it'll only make you stronger", which i find to be really true.

my all time favorite movie is the notebook. i know i know.. it's so typical and it's basically every girls' favorite movie.. but i simply can't help it. what's not to love? such good storyline, awesome characters and so very sentimental. i always get teary whenever i watch it. oh and i love the scene when they are on the boat in the middle of nowhere. see here, if you have no idea what i am talking about.

since we're in the whole "movies" topic, do you have a favorite one? and maybe a specific scene? i can go on and on about this topic, actually. there's way too many movies! but i should stop.

it seems that i am posting a lot these days. i guess it's the new-year-bug that's making me want to work and be productive. yes, i do feel like blogging is somewhat productive :p don't laugh!
