your title reminds me of one of my favorite sayings, "a bend in the road is not the end of the road, unless you fail to make the bend" it's definitely a good one!
sometimes staying true to who you are is the absolute hardest thing to do. and it's strange because you feel like it should be the easiest.
i've been going through some serious life changes right now that are making me question who i really am and all that. i hope you get through what you are dealing with.
