what is it that makes laduree so freaking awesome? is it the taste of the macarons itself? the packaging? or the whole hype of it all? i am still not sure. but this box below was pretty good. i wouldn't mind having some more.
I think it's because they're so pretty that makes them good + all the hype. I've only had a few in my life-not too common around here, but my oh my they are good!
laduree are THE macaroons! the purple ones are amazing, they actually tast good, with so many some of the colours taste crappy, but laduree are wonderful!
you're absolutely right. there's something so appealing about Laduree, that even though i've tasted macarons at other patisseries, i feel like i've yet to taste what a macaron really tastes like. as usual, love your pics. :)
there is a lot of hype around laduree, but there is no mistaking it. they are bloody good! the only others that i've had to rival laduree have been from pierre herme. The adrian zumbo macarons in sydney are pretty damn good as well. mmmmm macaroons!!
I've never had laduree macaroons, but all the hype makes me want to try some. I like macaroons in general- I think it's cos they taste good and the cute colors.
I think in all shame that because they're so rare to purchase and create. With its high price to just make one, and how they just look splendidly appealing that the hype started. And sadly I've fallen for that hype.. But they do taste marveously just sometimes I can't fork out the money to get them.
I've found better than Ladurée Macarons: poppy-flavoured macarons from my town (macarons are a speciality here in south-western France) Ladurée is all about the packaging, but you can't deny they are pretty and taste gooooood! :)
I think it's a combination of all three factors. Just like Tatiana said, I've tasted better ones, but Ladurée has their operation down pat. Everything about it is charming, including their shops. The tea rooms are really lovely despite being so touristy. I especially love the one on Rue Bonaparte! Go there! :-)
Believe me, I have never eaten a macaron in the whole course of my life. It's so rare here in Cebu that I doubt there even exists one. I guess, I have to make one myself and sell!
I've never had a macaroon, but I have been wanting to try baking a few lately. I've heard they are hard to make though. I will have to see how it goes! I love how beautifully the photograph!

true, and when you ignore your heart you get hurt tenfold--and don't even know why.
