i don't think anyone can deny that friends was and is still the best tv show ever. it has a mixture of comedy, romance and sometimes serious things as well. maybe it won't be for some people.. but for me, it's something i can re-watch over and over again and still laugh like crazy.
i think it has to do with the classic-ness of it all. most tv shows now are driven towards a certain angle (*cough*fashion*cough*vampires*cough*) it's not that i hate those tv shows, i don't.. i still watch them because they are still entertaining. but there''ll never be a second friends, i guess.

Best ? I cant say like that. It is better than many shows. To choose the best we need time. But thanks to my Satellite TV for providing this program.
I totally agree that Friends is one of the best shows because your right you can watch it over & over. hehe. I liked Phoebe & Joey!! =)
I always have an issue when it comes to my favorite Friends character! Always back and forth. Tonight, it's Chandler.
um i definitely own all 10 Seasons of FRIENDS on DVD and they are like comfort food to me. :) I watch them ALL the time and now have my fiancé addicted too.
My fiancé and I are JUST like Monica and CHandler so I would say those are my favorite characters. :)
Monica was my favourite - Rachel was just annoying and Phoebe, while she had her moments, was a bit too odd. Maybe it's because I related to Monica more.
And I dispute your claim that Friends is the best show ever. One word: Buffy.

Absolutely adore FRIENDS. We have the 10-season boxset at the flat and it just never gets old. My favourite characters are probably Ross and Joey :)
It's so true- there will never be another show like Friends. I always liked Chandler the best- he always had the best lines.
My other fav shows are Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, have you ever watched either of them?

I agree 20858304869%. There are still good shows, but Friends was definitely one of the best. You can watch an episode a thousand times and still laugh your head off! :)
I'd love to have a marathon sometime but I don't have the boxed sets.

I love Friends so much. I watch it whenever I get the chance and force everyone else in the room to watch it too. Sadly Phoebe reminds me of myself sometimes :)
I love Friends. I didn't catch on to it until right about the last episode, literally, but I started watching reruns and I have ever since. I have about 10-15 on my DVR at all times and I always turn one on to fall asleep to. Sometimes I get through 3 or 4 before I fall asleep, but it's one show I don't have to wonder what's going on to keep me awake because I've seen them all at least a dozen times!
I've always loved Joey and Phoebe. Phoebe reminds me of myself at times, and joey's just hilarious xD

Best gift I ever got was my husband surprising me with the dvd set of Friends. When he would watch and re-watch the episodes every day with me I knew he was the one! To this day we still watch about 2 episodes a day. He keeps saying it will be a sad day when they take it off tv and then we will only have the dvd's to give us our Friends fix. I can be having the most horrible day and within 5 minutes of starting an episode I am laugh so hard my tummy hurts! It's good medicine!

YES! Nothing can ever top FRIENDS. Back when it was on, I just thought it was the funniest show ever. Now that I re-watch the episodes I relate to them better beacuse I've actually gone through similar situations in certain episodes. GAH! I wish it was still on. I'm totally a Phoebe. And it's still the funniest show ever. =)
oh, i still remember the first time i wacthed friends. i jsut fell for them. i have all the dvds and i still wacth on tv... and i cried on the last episode. my favorites are chandler and phoebe. i love the sarcasm form chandler and the all the weird things from phoebe!!

About two years ago I finally gave in and started watching this show, since it seemed that *everyone* loved it. Well, ok, there are episodes and phases of the series that are good, but most of the time I find it over-rated. I've reached as far as one third into the last season, but then I found How I Met Your mother... and realised how funny a sit-com can be when it actually IS funny. Now I don't know how to bring myself to watch the last episodes of Friends. It's not funny enough, and I sometimes get annoued by the fact that the parts that are supposed to be fun way to often evolves around the fact that either Joey or Phoebe are stupid. It's too much making fun of how unintelligent they are, which in the end makes me feel either stupid mycself, or mean because I'm laughing at them.
Absolutely hands down, Best Show EVER. Favorite character isn't so easy. They change depending on the episode.
The real question is when are they going to do a reunion show. I think it's about time.

friends is absolutely my favourite show too. i can watch it for hours and seriously laugh so much. i love it. monica and chandler are my favourites i think... i always say i am going to keep a tally of which character makes me laugh the most times and then figure out my favourite that way. xx
Though i've watched the odd episode, I can't say i've ever gotten hooked or felt the need to go see more. It's not that I don't like the genre or anything, it just doesn't appeal to me beyond the 45min of mostly mindless chilling. Which is not an insult, or at least i really didn't intend for it to be. I like a lot of shows even though they're just that, something to watch when you're dead tired after school and you just need some time to chill.
so can't say I think it's the best. A show that I absolutely love, is Doctor Who. A british show that restarted in 2005. Haven't seen the old episodes, but David Tennant who plays the lead in the last 4 seasons, is ridiculously talented.
So true, NOTHING will EVER beat Friends. It's my favorite TV show and always will be. Oh, and I really can't choose a character! I started saying I like this one the best, and then the other, and then the next and so on until I run out of Friends, haha!

I agree wholeheartedly - nothing will ever replace Friends. It's definitely my favourite show. I own the entire series on DVD and I can watch it over and over and over again and still laugh until I cry. My favourite moment is when Ross is first trying to tell Rachel that he likes her (during the blackout episode), and then the cat jumps on his head and attacks him. HILARIOUS. I always crack up at that scene.
With my favourite characters, I'm opposite you: I like Phoebe and Ross the best, with Monica coming is closely at third.

Channel 4, here in the UK, just dropped friends.
It is shown on one of their channels about 6 times a day - you know in those slots where you just need to put something on people will watch.

hehe I was watching it again today, it's one of those show which will never grow old. I remember seeing the last eppisode and seriously EVERYONE must have been watching it becuase when I opened the windows I could hear it from outside to!

At my camp, we have no cable/cell service/internet, so when it rained almost every single day last summer and we couldn't go outside, we watched the complete first season of friends. it is an amazing show :)
ABSOLUTELY agree! There's no show quite like Friends. Phoebe's my favourite but not by much, I love every character.
