unnecessary negativity

i was reading my last few posts and realized how negative they were. and i don't want to be a negative blogger so from here on out.. i am throwing the negativity out of the window!

anyways, i recently watched these two movies: the reader and the boy in striped pyjamas. and if anyone has watched either or both.. they would realize there is a common factor between these two films. but most of all, i really liked the colors of these movies.. they remind me of coffee. mostly latte, to be honest.

and i was also wondering.. whatever happened to simple and good ending movies..? i miss those. the kind of movies that makes you feel good on the inside, or make you laugh and simply make your day. i guess i'm just a sucker for happy ending movies. that's all.

ps. sorry if you are seeing my blog to be very messy. i am currently redesigning it. please bear with me!

i liked the boy in the striped pajamas, i haven't seen anything as touching in a long time. i don't usually get weepy in other than disney films but it really got me. some films just have that ability, it's kind of creepy even.

i feel you, there should be more happy ever afters. even movies reflect how everything and everyone seem to be depressing and ruminating in their own negativity nowadays.

negative or not, i still love your posts!

I'm a sucker for happy endings, too. I highly recommend "Stranger Than Fiction" for good-on-the-outside feeling. Hope you'll give it a try and like it!

if you like nice simple movies, you should watch Amelie (from the french movie Amélie Poulain)(don't put the accent, otherwise nabolister won't find it !) or Paris, I love you. I guess you can find them on nabolister.com !

Yay for positivity! Recently Slumdog Millionaire made my day, as did Waitress. Harsh in the middle but great endings :)

PS. I love your blinking girl logo <3

I love your blog the way it is!

I saw The Reader but I haven't seen the other flick. I was thinking about reading the book version first.

I'm all for positivity too! :) Have a great weekend. x

I don't necesarily need movies to have a happy ending, but I like it when they're simple. Just by paying attention to the aesthetics, it seems like filmmakers can set the scene of a movie a lot better and without spending so much money on all sorts of extra things. I guess most people don't go for simple, though. Everyone needs to be over-stimulated.

looking forward to your new blog design! i'm still clueless with mine. and oh! do i agree about movies with happy endings, there're days I just want to sit on a couch and watch all these movies (knowing they have a happy ending beforehand)... but then again I really want to catch a boy in striped pyjamas. please keep blogging about films! it's always good to hear others opinion! xoxo

I know just what you mean... I feel like I'm always in the mood for a good, but also feel good movie, but all of the really good movies I have on my list to watch are so serious.
