i miss using color pencils.. might want to get on it again soon. i just love how there are so many different mediums that we can use. the choices are endless. and we're kind of lucky in that way.
ps. the top photo is what i bought recently. a porcelain candle holder. it makes the prettiest shadows/sparks. i love it! and i think i might want to buy a few more..

you might want to try watercolor pencils, I use them for my work most often and find them very useful. you can manipulate with the technique in many interesting ways :)
and I love candles as well, your latest find is something very beautiful
that candle holder is CUTE! i have a similar lamp..i leave it on to fall asleep to..it makes me calm and snug :)
