raindrops and foggy windows

i am dreading my life drawing homework. i hate staring at random naked people and trying to draw what it is that i see! when in fact, i don't want to be seeing anything. i don't know if it's just me, but i find it to be a very uncomfortable and awkward situation.

anyways, i am so glad it's friday and that i am almost finished with all of my work. i am secretly wishing that it would rain tomorrow. it would be so good.. especially when i get to sleep in.

a little positivity on halloween

i asked my sisters to get that donut just because it's halloween and i think it's pretty cute when food gets festive. don't you think?

i think this is best costume award for this year. gwen stefani was spotted with the egg and her husband with the bacon. it's so simple but so very cute. they should have some pancakes and orange juice costumes and it can be like a breakfast combo!

blink blink

as you can see, i am having fun with the computer when i am supposed to be doing my homework. can't resist it though. i used to make these animations a lot before.. but i've stopped and i'm going to start again. it's so fun! i forgot how fun it was to make these. i am off to make some more now!

traditional vs. modern

well those photos should sum up what i want to do right now. eat macaroons and take a nap. i seriously can't wait for the weekend!! it's just gotten to a point where weekdays are "responsibility days" and weekends are just for you and you alone. i guess that's just how the whole routine goes..

i've also realized something. i used to do a lot of illustrations on the computer but for some reason, it has just naturally changed to my good old notebook. i think i might be losing my "digital illustration" skills so i am slowly getting back on it again.. therefore, expect more computerized graphics [i.e. that typography up there] to come.

which technique do you think is better? using traditional ways to illustrate, as in with pen and paper or.. the modern way? with a computer and mouse? hmm.

ps. those are my new bed sheets. and i am back on using my moleskine cahier again! it turns out, i was using the wrong side of the paper, the rough side.. which was why i hated it so much. but it is all good now.

some wise words

i never took notice of the vintage ceiling light that we have in our house and it's surprisingly pretty. i guess there are things that i just take for granted in a house that i've known ever since i was born. sometimes when you see things on a daily basis, you tend to not appreciate it as much.

anyways, on a completely different note.. i had those banana and chocolate drizzle last night. and it was as good as i remember them to be. i used to have it all the time but i only found the chocolate sauce recently and i am soooo thankful! it's the ones that is for ice cream and whenever it gets cold, it will get hard. i like eating it with bananas and strawberries. the best chocolate sauce ever.

i have a confession

i really wish i do. life would be much more pleasant with waffle makers! imagine all those sunday brunches.. or just for a snack with whipped cream and jam, that would be lovely too. the one that i really like is the heart-shaped waffle makers, like the drawing on the bottom left. the look of it will already make your day, let alone eating it. i'm sure one day.. one day i will have my own waffle maker.

all inked out

i guess you could call these my new creations. still in the very beginning process though! it's watercolors mixed with ink. i really am loving ink at the moment. i love the texture that it gives on the surface of the paper, it is oh-so special. and i love using the pen nib too.. it transports me to a time where people write letters to one another and as annoying as it may be, i actually like dipping the nib into the ink bottle every time the ink runs out. something about the process is just so different and liberating compared to using my average old pen.

lack of titles

i've always liked townhouses that are lined up together. there's just something interesting about them. for all i know, in sydney these kind of houses can be found in paddington and in new york, they can be found in manhattan. they are not usually in nice colors but still, it would be a dream to live in one of these kind of houses in the future.

i am trying out something new. ink. instead of using my usual average pen, i bought a bottle of ink the other day and also bought the pen or nib or whatever it's called for it too! kind of interesting to try different mediums but iyeas, there will be more to come of it.

can't believe it's nearly the end of the weekend.. already.

cups and cups of tea

i love that cup! i wouldn't mind getting one for myself. i think they are selling it in fred flare too. and which by the way.. they are opening their real store in new york!! how exciting! i would definitely pop by if i was there but maybe some other time in the future.

so, i stayed at home all day today. it was raining and i was warming myself up with lots of warm tea. it was good though, very relaxing in a way.

anyways, more doodles on heartbreaks. i seem to be on a roll with these! maybe i'll move on to something else soon. it is getting rather depressing, don't you think?

mid week mayhem

i have finally scanned my illustrations slash doodles in! it's about time. the blog was starting to get empty without them. anyways, i ended up staying away from the computer yesterday which was a nice change. spent the time painting and drawing instead.. so expect more doodles to come!

well i am off to do my homework now. need to catch up on them still. and there seem to be so many other things that i need to do today but i am glad that the week is coming to an end soon..

a brand new week

i am determined to be organized this week. i even woke up early today! and that is always a good sign. i always like starting the week in a good positive way cause it kind of affects the rest of your week. anyways, i am so behind in scanning my doodles. hopefully i'll be able to scan them in soon and post some this week.

busy busy busy!

i wished i didn't leave everything to last minute. now i have to rush to finish all of my work on the weekend. i hate it when this happens. and i have no one else to blame by myself. i should really get it all together. *sigh*

friday, finally!

i'm so glad it's friday. i should have written that in my list of simple pleasures. i love friday afternoons. i think i might go home early and take a nap.. just because it's friday and i think i am allowed to.

so i accidentally scanned my hand yesterday and it turned out to look quite nice, like a photo but not really. i might experiment more with the scanner. i kind of like the line effect that it has, like it was a broken machine or something.

anyways, that's my third page of the scrapollage that i am working on. unfortunately, i haven't had the time to do more this week but hopefully this weekend i will.

ps. that is my home brewed starbucks. i love love that tumbler of mine and i am so glad that i bought it last time cause they don't have it anymore now. i wish i had bought some more, even though i already own like 4 of them [which my sisters use sometime].

i promise this is the last one

i think it's the fact that it's thursday and i start to slack off.. which also explains why i post so many times today! but this shall be the last one until tomorrow. i decided to post my "feet shot" today because tights was discussed here and i am wearing it today! i say, that is a pleasant coincidence! plus those lanvin ballet flats are the most comfortable shoes ever!! and it kind of reminds me aluminum foil.

also, i figured out a way to take photos of my outfits without a digicam! instead, i use PHOTOBOOTH. you have got to love mac. seriously! so iyea, the third photo is from today while the second one was from a couple of days ago. i don't know if people would be interested in it so i might not do it so often. the reason why i started to take these photos was because i was excited about my new purchase.. which is the vest that i am wearing. i like it for the fact that it has no buttons and it's not like the typical waistcoat =)

anyway that is all for today. i should stay away from my computer so that i won't be tempted to keep posting and posting till there's no end.

i heart it

i came across these photographs while browsing the usual world wide web and i just can't stop looking at them. such a simple idea and yet it is so effective. it really does prove that simplicity is best. can you label which ones are which? they are based on a superhero theme.

so i stumbled across this. i didn't even know that i was on it. i must say, it is a pretty nifty website and i'm so glad that people like what i do.

shades of gray

so you might already know this.. but there are new macbooks and macbook pros out right now. i can't believe it! i just bought mine at the beginning of the year and that was supposed to be the new one. it amazes me how apple can come up with so many newer products every time. for example, the new ipod nano now has a newer version. it's crazy!! anyways, i reckon the new macbook pro looks pretty sweet. i would go and get one if i don't already have mine. plus i think it's lighter too.

this is the japanese lunch i was talking about on monday. it was really yummy but also a very big portion! i didn't even finish the rice. i should never order such a huge bento ever again. wasting food is not good!

what have we become?

hello all. i just feel the need to post about this matter because i find it to be very important. have you guys seen britney spears' new video "womanizer"? well here are my thoughts.. and this is not britney bashing. it's just what i think and believe in.

first of all, do you really need to strip down naked to have a comeback? is this really what the society wants? if it is, then how much has the human morality been degraded? i know this isn't the only video out there that shows parts of nudity but since this is the latest and most talked about video at the moment, i might as well use it as an example. wouldn't these kind of videos ruin the children and teenagers at a young age? especially on national television? what are we shaping the future generations to be? what is hollywood shaping human society to be?

that's all i have to say. see the video for yourself and think about it.

a way to burn time

tuesdays always pass by so slow for me. i have been checking the clock non stop today, wishing that it would somehow get fast forwarded. anyways, i found the idea here.. why don't you make a list too?

as promised..

so here's a little sneak peek on my new project: scrapollage. i've always wanted to do collages but never really put my heart into it and i realized that i collect so many brochures, leaflets, random papers and whatnot. so here's a chance for me to use it up and create something out of it.

this is only the first page.. there will be more to come. and i've started small cause i know i would not be bothered if it was going to be a huge project. currently i am using an a5 size notebook which i bought from new york.

typing with a burnt tongue

i had japanese for lunch, i think i burnt my tongue from the miso soup. i was out the whole day today.. and i know that i haven't been posting my usual doodles in the last couple of days but that's because i am working on something new and exciting! i might scan them in tonight and post some tomorrow.

ps. those are our new dishes. i went with my mom to get a couple of weeks back and i absolutely love it!

i just had to share this.. saw it being featured on teen vogue's latest issue and i couldn't resist. i think i've seen these on some blogs before but i have never seen the perfumes in real life.. i was just thinking to myself that if i ever do see it in a shop or something, i might want to buy some even if it doesn't smell that good. actually, i think am more interested in the dolls' heads on the model's hair than the actual perfume. too cute! even he wanted to draw the advertisement and i must say, he did an excellent job. i wonder what gwen will come up with next..

crushing on quentin blake

i just came across this and wow! such an inspiration. i always knew he was the guy who illustrated roald dahl's books but it was only today that i have seen him in action. seeing illustrators do their thing is soooo wonderful. i wish more artists would do the same. i am determined to keep on using my watercolors from now on. and one thing i learn from quentin is that.. it's okay to color out of the lines and it's also okay to not color everything on a page. seriously.. such an inspiration. i don't think i will be able to sleep now.

quick snippet

so i decided to cut my fringe the other day. it was getting too long to a certain point where i would not know which is my fringe and which is my normal hair. for some reason, my hair stylist person does not recommend me having a fringe.. but i like them. and he would not cut a short one for me. so i did it myself. i forgot how liberating it feels. i used to do it all the time but stopped for unknown reasons. it feels so good now.. short and light, just the way i like it.

new found interest

i never knew that there's decole korea. i always thought that it was decole japan? but apparently korea has it as well. i'm not too sure if they have the same products but it does seem like they do. maybe a few extras here and there. the photo is quite small so you might want to click it to see the larger version. love every single one. i wonder where i can buy some..?

back to the same old routine

i have mixed feelings for our marbled countertop. in some ways, it's nice but in other ways, it's so old. i don't know.. maybe because i am so used to seeing it ever since i was young.

new habits die hard

i've been so used to sleeping late and waking up late for the past week.. i just hope i will be able to wake up early and sleep early starting next week onwards. my classes has finally started again.. not too happy with the classes that i'm taking this semester: basic mathematics and life drawing. two things that i am not very good at! i am just hoping that i would pass the subject without failing.

mail day

ordered some stuff from fred flare and they arrived this morning. i love the little lego speaker cause it's so convenient!! and plus it has no plugs whatsoever.. it just runs on your ipod's battery which is pretty awesome. i have yet to read the new mike perry book.. i want to save it though.. until i have time to just sit and look at all the pretty work. the necklace is pretty cute too =)

chilling

this was very much influenced by facebook. i really do hate their new website now.. it's so complicated and cut into different sections. but then again, it is kind of nice to have things separately, for example people who has lots of applications on their page.. it no longer bugs you because it's not there on the main page. i think that is the only thing that i like about it.

a week of bumming

i haven't done much this week. eat, doodle, watch dvds, nap and more napping. not complaining though!! but hopefully i'll be able to get back to the working routine once the holidays is over.

another new table

iyeap i bought another table. i think i have lost count on how many i have bought in the past but i think i'll be sticking with this one for awhile.. it is the perfect size and height for when i need it on the bed.

so i found out about these babies yesterday. i don't know where it is selling or if it is already in the market but i want one so badly!! it uses 35mm films which makes processing so much easier and just look at it..!! i'll bet that either fredlare or urban will have it soon enough. move over holga.. it's time for blackbird, fly =) is it too early to create a christmas wish list?

rest and relax

i'm currently on a break slash holiday.. and i have been lazing around and getting some drawings done. actually i've started a new watercolor notebook! anyways, i just wanted to update my colored version of the list and the other two are just from my notebook.. i think i will take a nap now. having a really bad headache.
