i saw august rush on dvd on the weekend. it had a good soundtrack but it lacked something, i guess i was expecting a hollywood love story with big, fireworks ending. but putting that aside, i think it was pretty good. jonathan rhys myers has a good voice, damn it. morning volcano

i think it's important to start mornings positively. no matter how you're feeling from last night, just start it fresh and it will get better throughout the day. and you should never vent anything to anyone in the morning cause that will just ruin the rest of their day.

blown away

i know i have posted a lot today, i guess i just can't contain my excitement when i find interesting things. anyways, i've already posted this before.. well the picture below to be specific and i have actually finished reading the book.. mostly through golf sessions with my brother or just when i can't sleep at night. i would describe it to be randomly interesting and i must say that i enjoyed it very much. apparently there are different colors for the cover, i wish i had seen the pink first!!

so i was browsing around and came across this video interview of miranda july and this is the first time ever that i've seen her speak and her eyes are just magical!! i couldn't stop looking at them.. okay that sounded kinda creepy but seriously, watch it and you'll see what i mean.

in the middle of the video, i realized that this wasn't my first time seeing her work. i have actually came across the website a long time ago and thought that it was really interesting but never really bookmarked it or anything [what a shame!!]. but i found it again today and i am glad that i did. i just want to share it on my blog for anyone who reads it and hopefully it will inspire you in some way or another because it sure inspired me.

addicted

just an update for my online shopping session at urban.. i currently have 15 items in my cart and i think i might still filter some out, i might be broke if i don't.

oh my, this is so tempting as well. i was browsing topshop after looking through urban and look at what i found. the whole collection reminds me of miu miu and i have a feeling it was most probably inspired by it.

anyhow, i guess i'll be spending the rest of the night browsing. it is friday afterall.

online shopping

so apparently urban is on sale and it's the perfect timing because i'm going to try online shopping for the very first time!! i know i am a bit late with these kind of things but currently, there are three items in my cart.. and i can't wait for it to arrive!! i think it will be an interesting adventure.

i came across these pictures and thought that they are so beautiful.. both the model and the effect of the photo. it really does remind me of kaleidoscopes minus the glittery stuff that they put inside it. i wonder how she does it..taken from: here

the parents and little brother are away for the weekend and i think i am going to miss them just a little bit. i have a feeling we might actually go up to where they are tomorrow night and spend some time with them there.

so here are the actual photos of my venti tumbler.. i've just started to use it today and i must say that they are amazing. the thing i love most is that they are DOUBLE INSULATED!! which means that the drinks will stay cold and the glass don't get wet at all so it wouldn't be messy or annoying. which also means that you don't need coasters!! i swear, this thing is perfection. personally, i am using the normal disposable starbucks straws that they provide in their stores so that i won't have to use the one that came with the tumbler. i think re-useable straws are kinda weird. we currently have four of these in the house and i think we are buying another one for my second sister and after that, all the female in the house will own one.

i can't believe it's already friday. i hate it when time goes by so fast when you're on holiday. always happens.

good wednesday

i just bought something for myself. a plastic AND re-useable venti starbucks cup!! i tried looking at their site for some pictures but there weren't any and all i could find from the web were the ones from ebay so i am quite confused. maybe they don't sell it everywhere. maybe it's limited? i'd like to think so. but i am soooo happy with my purchase, it's awesome!! it even comes with a real lid and a re-useable straw.. i am a sucker for tumblers and cups in general.

i think this is my fourth or fifth time posting about rob ryan but i just simply love his work. the simplicity of it and how honest it is.. check him out on his other website: ryantown.

i went to watch the hulk today. it was okay, average. the script was pretty lame but i guess it was one of those action packed movies.. not a big fan of it though.

the day after

so i went to a party last night, someone's birthday. it was a buffet.. and now i'm tired. i had my sleep in this morning but i guess it wasn't enough since i couldn't even sleep last night.

i am in serious consideration to build myself a dollhouse. i wouldn't want it to be so fancy and everything like the ones pictured above but i do want one. i think it would be so fun to actually fill it up with all the interior things that i like. i was thinking i might actually make the things to fill up the dollhouse [i.e. sofas, tables, lamps, etc etc..] i think it would be an interesting project but we'll just have to see if i have the time to make it or not.

fashion side of things

if you are like me, you would have been able to tell that the one pictured above is mary kate and the one pictured below is ashley. i must say though that they do wear similar things but it never looks the same anymore. they have successfully branched out in their own ways.

i found a nice little pair of shoes on the web but unfortunately the site was in korean and i understood nothing but the photos itself. isn't it pretty to look at? i think it would go along with anything as well.

so the guests has left and i will finally have my room back.. it feels like it's been ages but it has only been a few days. i think i might just air out the room for tonight and only sleep back in there tomorrow. i get agitated with these kind of things..

rewind and relax

oh i am loving my summer break. there's no schedule, no work that needs to be done, no deadlines, nothing.. completely free from all those things that i normally have to do on a daily basis. life is great at this moment.

my weekend has be filled with.. the color green, fairy lights, late night talks, gossips, and sleeping in. all is good in the hood.

i tried doing my photos round cornered/ edges but i think i am over it. i used to like doing it before but now i kind of prefer the usual boxy corner, or maybe i'm just used to it.. i guess these will be the only round cornered photos for a while.

saturday is for snacking

i must say.. sleeping on sofa beds is not that great. i guess that's why they are called sofa beds. but then again, i am pretty sure the new ones that they have now are much better. the one that i slept in last night is very very old. like maybe 10 years old so i guess that's why it wasn't very pleasant. i've also come to realize that i like to sleep by myself on the bed. i don't like sharing beds.

change is good

so iyeas, i changed my banner yet again but i think i will stick to this one for a longer period of time because it's just simple. i also downloaded the new mozilla firefox 3.0 and i must say that it is better and i thought that i had to re-do my favorites again but it does it automatically!! that was the only thing i was worried about.

i'm going to be away for the away for the weekend and by "away" i mean, i am packing my bags to move to my sister's room since my room is occupied by my sister's guests. thankfully, it will only be for the weekend and monday. i will hopefully be able to sleep back in
my own bed by tuesday night :) like i said, maybe change is good.

home sweet home

i decided to stay home today. it turned out that i wasn't feeling well anyways so it was a good choice. oh i went to watch 21 yesterday. it was okay i guess, it wouldn't have made a difference if i went to see it or if i didn't. i can't wait to see satc though!!

i eat when i'm nervous

i went to watch kungfu panda yesterday, took my brother to watch it since it's his summer break [ and mine ] and we had nothing else better to do. it was surprisingly good and i must say that jack black did very well on the voice over. i don't think it would be as good if it wasn't him who did it, it just worked out so perfectly.

i have also been taking my brother for golf. i guess i'm his "nanny" for the summer, i should really get paid =) i don't think i would mind it much except it does get a little too much when i see him 24/7.

i wish my summer break would go on indefinitely.

summer break

so i am officially on holidays now. unfortunately, so is my twelve year old brother. i really can't stand him sometimes, i try to be patient and be nice to him but no matter what, he's just always mean to me. so i decided to make this to vent out my anger..

i just submitted a few images to this project. it's very last minute but i'm glad i did it, it was fun and i can't wait for the result. even if i didn't get in, i think i will still buy the book. i can just imagine how inspiring it will be and it'll be fun trying to find the little hearts in all the images.

lazy friday

i decided to stay at home again today. yesterday was to stay in because i had to finish off my finals and today was just plain lazy :) well this week has been pretty hectic so i guess it's okay.

i bought a new tea strainer in the shape of a heart. drinking tea will be more pleasant from now on. which reminds me, i should buy more tea.. i think we are running out.

i changed my banner yet again. i guess i wasn't too happy with the "notebook" background since it was pretty much taken from word mac. i think it's much better now. i guess we'll have to see how long this one with last up there for.

new banner!!

i decided to change it again and for this one i included one of my new girls.. she looks kinda blank for the face expression but i am liking it at the moment. plus the not-so-old banner was getting boring and a little too crowded for the top of the page and i wanted to make it simpler this time. enjoy it while it last cause i'm probably going to change it again soon enough =)

random post

so here's a mix of things i found.. first of all, pastel is looking good as dresses. i really like the first and the last, so versatile in my opinion. easy to wear and it looks really good.. maybe a little too short but i'm not that tall so it wouldn't really be so short on me i guess.

battle of the straws.. green or purple? it just seem like green has more experience in the business for this country. purple is still sort of struggling. i was asking for an extra cup of ice and the lady who was serving me had to ask another co-worker if she could give an extra cup of ice. and they don't allow the customers to pay by cards which is very inconvenient.

she's one who's pale but very pretty still. i guess it's in the face.

i keep getting my days mixed up this week. i thought yesterday was wednesday and i thought that today is tuesday. it gets confusing sometimes. i can't wait though, the semester is ending very soon and it's going to be summer break!! i'm also confused about the part when my summer semester starts. is it right after this one ends, or do i have a break first? hmm.. i'm not on top of things at the moment.

i wish it was friday

so i can go out and have lunch. not at tgi cause it's not really that great.. i much prefer outback, they have great soup and bread. i think i'm craving for american food now. haven't had it for a while now.

monday morning mood swings

and i'm already over it.. so i finally received my textbooks that i've ordered. it took exactly a month to arrive!! anyhow, my stomach has been feeling weird since saturday.. it's like something is in there poking around and it hurts. i haven't figured out what's wrong though.

sunday spam

decided to feed myself today since there wasn't any food at home for me to eat. i've been curious about "spam musubi" and so i decided to google it and try to make it. it wasn't hard at all and i must say that it is pretty yummy!! it's kind of like the usual kimbab/sushi that i make with spam but instead of slicing them to thin and long, spam musubi uses a slice of spam and that's it.. i think if i ever go to hawaii, i'd have to hunt them down.

i still have 5 more left and i guess i can have it for dinner or as snacks.. whenever i'm hungry. i do wonder how long they can stay for though..? maybe i should refrigerate them or something. oh and just in case, here's a good recipe.

a muffin break

i am chewing away as i type this.... blueberry muffin never tasted so good!! i've been eating donuts for the last couple of days and i even made a member card for it.. but it's getting a little too much now so it's good to have other things.. like muffins!! except my sisters have already eaten the top parts away so now i'm just left with one blueberry and two chocolate chips muffin, topless.

currently listening to she&him.. it's magical and very soothing. it's on my mellow playlist. wow, can't believe it's already friday. this week went by pretty fast.

so guess what i've just ordered online....

i can't wait for it to arrive!!

this is what i think

i think that these pictures are so much better than those in the magazines. i mean, of course magazines have good ones too but they are always so predictable and so planned out. the pose, the clothes, the lighting, the models, etc.. but these just seem effortlessly interesting and appealing. i guess it's just a breathe of fresh air after being so used to seeing editorials in magazines, it's nice to see something different. monotone

this is a pretty old photo from maybe two months back.. but i haven't had the time to post it yet so here goes.

someone in my class just made my day. it was really considerate and generous of him to make a whole demo on how to make a fire effect on photoshop. i really really appreciate such kindness and it makes me believe that there are still goodness out there in the world. i know i may be taking this in way too much but i just think that it was very nice of him to do that. i mean who else would print screen every step of an assignment? and plus, who would care that much to actually do this for other classmates? well the answer is no one.. so far. so i am really thankful for that and i am dedicating this post to him. he wouldn't even read this but that doesn't matter because i just need to express it in my own way.

p.s. here's the assignment that i couldn't do right. i know it's pretty ugly but hey, at least i learnt something in school =)

french toast and orange juice

that's what i had for breakfast this morning. thought up of it just before i fell asleep last night =) surprisingly i could wake up considering i did sleep pretty late. i guess it was cause of these weird and disturbing dreams that i had. i guess i was glad to be awake..?!

it was so cool how the effect just came up like that in my camera. was not expected for sure.. but it's pretty no?

i haven't used this for the longest time.

unexpected guests

i was reading my old inbox from my old email that i don't use anymore and wow.. things have changed. a hell lot as well!! but it was interesting to see how things grew out to be. from highschool and then graduating, people going to uni and how i moved away.. it's really interesting. i guess i will do this again in a couple of years and look back at how everything was. it's kind of like a time machine..
